"SOUND DECOMPRESSION" ERROR MESSAGE (DK SOFTWARE):
Microsoft issues periodic security updates for the Windows XP operating system – the SP 2 (Security Patch 2) has inadvertently created installation and operating issues with DK software. The most common example prompts a "Sound decompression" warning box.
Unfortunately, there is not yet a patch available for VISTA to resolve this problem; however, it is easy to fix the Sound decompression error in Windows XP. It is a common error for XP users ever since Service Pack 2 (SP2) was released. The service pack created installation and operating issues with certain software.
To fix this problem, you will need to download a patch from the internet. Please click on the following link and download the patch that will fix it: http://www.gspsupport.co.uk/media/patches/XPUpdate.exe Click on the box labeled "Click here to download the XP Patch."
PLEASE NOTE: This patch must be installed to the System32 Folder of your operating system (it will do this automatically). If you install this patch and the problem continues your system folder may be in a different location than C:\Windows\System32. Reinstall the patch but this time when it tells you it will install to C:\Windows\System32 change the location to: C:\WINNT\System32 and continue with the install.
